Applying to Live in Québec
Under the Canada-Québec Accord on Immigration, Québec establishes its own immigration requirements and selects immigrants who will adapt well to living in Québec.
Therefore, if you wish to relocate to Québec, you will first need to make an application to the Québec government for a Québec Selection Certificate (CSQ).
Since Québec is a French speaking province a strong emphasis is placed on applicants with French language abilities.
Under Québec’s Regular Skilled Worker Program, Québec selects applicants based on a number of factors including language proficiency (French & English), education, age and skilled work experience. Applicants are awarded points for each factor and an applicant must meet the qualifying passmark.
From April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016 Québec will accept 6,300 applications for processing under their Regular Skilled Worker Program. However, applications will only be accepted for processing during a specified period of time from April1, 2015 to March 31, 2016. However, this does not apply if applicants have a valid offer of employment or are currently resident in Québec (other exceptions apply, please contact B.M.G. for further information).
If your application for a Québec Selection Certificate is successful you will then be eligible to apply for your Canadian permanent residency status as a Québec Selected Applicant.
